About the Scaredy Cat Coasters Design Campaign

Cultures can be brought to life and shaped by people’s values, behaviors, and practices. In short, culture is a collective, creative expression; most importantly, it can be designed. When designers convey messages through visual media like specialized packaging, business logos, and posters, they can convey information about the product and what it means to be associated with the brand. Designers also have the ability to challenge existing cultural norms and stereotypes through their work. By creating thought-provoking and innovative designs, they can prompt discussions and encourage new perspectives, leading to cultural evolution and refinement. During this project, designers will be challenged to research a topic that seeks new cultural and social solutions to generate empathy, create dialogue, foster new ideas and relationships, and offer a powerful and democratic way of expressing, sharing, and shaping values.
