About the Juxtaposition T-Shirts
Juxtaposition Winterguard is an Independent World Class organization that competes in both the Winter Guard International (WGI) and Mid-East Performers Association (MEPA) circuits. I was a performing member with the organization in 2022 and 2023. While being part of the organization, I was asked to design t-shirts that match the show theme. The 2023 show was about Elton John. The music was a selection of his songs spliced together to create an interesting soundtrack. I created multiple designs and pulled inspiration from the design on the tarp and the glasses we put on during the show.

Find recognizable Elton John imagery to use for the designs
Make the shirt noticeable in a crowd of people

Neon-sign type was wanted, but was not ideal with the printing type
Elton John is a very boisterous character with lots of elements to pull from visually
A design was wanted to be created from a previously made Elton John sculpture

Process
Step 1
Ideate and sketch based on the overall color guard show, theme, and concept.
Step 2
Create multiple designs to be put on t-shirts, sweatshirts, and other merchandise.
Step 3
Send all designs to be printed and sold by Juxtaposition Winter Guard.
